ATHLETIC POLICY
Athletic Participation is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop their physical skills and abilities in a safe and directed program that focuses on teamwork, commitment, and the personal improvement. Students participating in these programs will be encouraged and expected to actively reflect the standards of Christian behavior and the humility of Jesus Christ in their behavior on and off the court, in practices, and in games.
No student may try out for or participate in any athletic program if they have an F in any class for the current semester at the time of tryouts. Any player who is eligible at the time of tryouts will remain eligible for the entire semester. If a student ends the first semester with an F in any class, they will not be eligible during second semester and will be cut from the team.
Here at AAA we are Christian student athletes, in that order; Christians first, students second, and athletes third. However, having a test or a big project due the next day is not an excuse to miss practice or games. If the student cannot handle the responsibilities of academics and athletics, they should opt out of the athletics program.
I understand that projects, tests, quizzes and homework are part of the regular school day, and I will not use these reasons as an excuse to miss practices or games.
I understand that there will be driving involved. AAA will provide transportation to and from Duluth for games and practices, and will make every effort to get students home from Sunday practice. Any other driving needs we will do our best to meet on an individual basis.
I agree to come to games and practices via school transportation or my own.
I understand the even if I am injured I can learn a lot from coming to practices and games and observing what is happening and I can also support my teammates by being there even if I can’t participate, so practices and games will not be excused for injuries.
I understand that fundraising is part of being on an athletic team, and I agree to participate in athletic fundraisers throughout the year (these may be held during the basketball or volleyball season, but will more likely be held after the season is over) including but not limited to Golf Tournament, coke sales, concessions at games, collecting admissions, car washes, finding sponsors etc.
The fee for volleyball is $75
The fee for basketball is $125
These fees help pay for transportation, uniforms, officials and other costs. These costs do not include any tournament fees.
I ( do / do not ) have asthma or use an inhaler.
Please list any other medical conditions or allergies the coaching staff should be aware of.
If you use an inhaler, you will not be allowed to participate in practices or games without your own inhaler.
I understand and agree to all the above listed requirements and athletic policy and I would like to be a part of the AAA athletic program.
